How to Get a Free Website at Wealthy Affiliate

In today's post, I wanted to show you how to get a free website at Wealthy Affiliate. These free sites are ideal for beginners, are built with WordPress which is the most popular platform for websites and these free sites are known as sub-domains.

What is a Sub-Domain?

A top level domain is, if you can imagine, like a filing cabinet (a dot com site.) A drawer in the filing cabinet would be a sub-domain. If that makes any sense, I don't know. 🙂

So, a sub-domain is like a drawer within a filing cabinet as opposed to the full filing cabinet. A sub-domain kind of sits under a top level domain.

More specifically, if you're a geeky type like me, Wikipedia says this about sub-domains

But Let's Crack On!

Anyways, to get a free website at Wealthy Affiliate you'll have to create a free starter account.

Enter your name and email address and you're in. It's that simple. Then, you can follow the steps in this video I've put together.

The video is actually swiped from a video sequence I created to show people how to set up an Instagram account with a website and use it for collecting emails. You can see the full sequence here if that's your cup of tea. For the moment though, the main topic here is just about how to get a free website with Wealthy Affiliate.

There's hosting for free, too, if you're wondering. So, don't worry about being stung for hosting costs when you wake up tomorrow morning.

When I said "free", it really is "FREE" and will remain free for as long as you want it to.

Of course, Wealthy Affiliate also has a premium option but that's not necessary for what you need right now. Cross that bridge if and when it comes to it. (i.e. Serious money makers go for the premium option, but we're just learning the basics here, so let's keep to the free starter accounts.)

How to Get a Free Website at Wealthy Affiliate

Watch the short video which shows what you need to do and in a few minutes from now you will be in possession of your very own website and it didn't cost you a dime. Here's a tip for what you could do with the free site(s) that you get.

You could use them for landing pages (squeeze pages, lead capture pages, optin pages, they're all the same thing, just different names.) You can collect email subscribers with these. The only thing you must do is to make sure that your free website has two crucial pages and then you're good to go. Those two pages are -

  1. An Affiliate Disclaimer Page
  2. A Privacy Policy Page

These pages are a legal requirement. But don't sweat it because inside the Wealthy Affiliate training there are templates you can use (you just copy and paste them) which are generic and mostly the same on all websites. It took me about 5 minutes to sort my own affiliate disclaimer and privacy policy pages out.

So, there you have it. Now you know how to get a free website at Wealthy Affiliate, you can go ahead and do so by pressing this lovely orange button below which takes you to my Wealthy Affiliate review page where you can create a free account.
