Is Clickbank a Scam? The Truth About Clickbank Marketplace Exposed!

Is Clickbank a scam or is it legit? People ask me this question all the time, so, in this short post today I will tell you what I really think of Clickbank Marketplace. I will also tell you why some people think it’s a scam, while others swear that it’s legitimate.

I made a video showing a few of the basics of using the inside of Clickbank so you can choose products in your niche. By the time you’ve read through this you will know how to treat Clickbank Marketplace.

What is Clickbank Marketplace?

Clickbank Marketplace is a website where you can find products in digital formats, such as ebooks, courses, software and the likes, to advertise on your website.

There are thousands, if not hundreds of products there. Some are good, some are bad, and some are just okay. Some products you find can be REALLY bad, though. There’s a mixed bunch to choose from.

Here’s what Wikipedia has to say about Clickbank Marketplace

Who is Clickbank for?

If you have a website, a blog, an email list, or online business of many other types you can use Clickbank Marketplace to find things to sell for a commission.

This is called the affiliate marketing model. Another way to describe the affiliate marketing model is to say “blogging for cash” or “making recommendations based on your experiences with a product” in reviews on a website.

Is Clickbank a Scam - What is Clickbank

Why Do Some Say Clickbank is a Scam?

It’s the really bad products there at Clickbank that give them that idea. You see, this requires a bit of an analogy to explain it.

My Analogy - Is a Supermarket a Scam?

When you go to a supermarket there are thousands of items for sale, right? Not all of those items are brilliant (for you). Some of them are just okay and some of them are awesome (in your opinion)

I might think that a can of baked beans by a brand name such as Heinz is the best product (in the baked beans niche). But you might hate Heinz baked beans.

If you were to turn to someone and say that the supermarket was a scam because you didn’t like a particular product they have on their shelves, that person would look at you as if you’d lost your mind, am I right?

Heinz baked beans might be right up your alley but may be they're hated by someone else. That doesn’t mean the supermarket is a scam. It means the supermarket simply tries to cater to everyone’s taste. And we all know people have different likes and dislikes.

Clickbank is Not a Scam

So, with this in mind, I can confidently say that Clickbank is not a scam and in fact is a good place to get started if you’re new to making money online with affiliate marketing, or, blogging for cash, as I like to call it.

Is Clickbank Safe to Use?

Absoulutely. Clickbank is like a supermarket, or a warehouse full of products (non-physical products) that are for the most part, safe to use. For sure, it has its fair share of low-quality stuff. It's up to you, the affiliate marketer, to decide what's good and what's not good.

Be Cautious When Writing a Clickbank Product Review

All you have to do is make sure that what you're promoting on your site is a good quality product when you choose to do a Clickbank product review. If you choose something that's not good, you will lose credibility.

Clickbank is Actually Great for Affiliate Marketing Beginners

Clickbank Marketplace is free to join for anyone. It’s easy to set up an account (it takes 2 minutes) and you will then be able to pick and choose from digital products that you want to promote on your website or in your email marketing campaigns.

That being said, look out for the low-quality stuff. You shouldn’t just grab at something because the commission looks good. You should also not judge a book by its cover, so to speak.

Take your time in choosing products to promote from Clickbank (or any other affiliate programs) before deciding. Do your proper research (due diligence) and promote only the things you really recommend to your readers.
