Ouch! It felt like the end for me because the pain became so intense. It was Sciatica, a bane to me for almost 3 years in total and I lost a job because of it. I started my work from home jobs website as a result of sciatica. It sounds crazy, but I'm glad I got sciatica and lost my teaching job.
If I hadn't become debilitated by my bad back I would never have considered the possibility of making money online with a website. I'm a stay at home dad, now, and I wouldn't want to change it for the world.
But...Ouch! As I'm writing this I'm in a lot of pain.

How Sciatica Gave Me the Nerve to Start a Work from Home Jobs Website
Being stuck at home and looking after the kids was a fair enough contribution to the family in itself because it saved us from employing someone else to do it.
I had trust issues anyway when it came to leaving my 2 kids with someone else for 5 days a week. Being toddlers it meant they weren't at school so they had to stay home.
The Search Began for Some Work from Home Jobs I Could Try
So, there I was at home looking after 2 kids and sneaking in a few computer games whenever I had the chance.
It suddenly occurred to me that instead of using my computer to entertain myself while the wife was at work, I should look for ways to use my internet connection and my PC to make money online. I knew there were a lot of scams and that I might get stung by them.
And so the search was on.

One of the Super Lucky Ones
I was one of the lucky few who never once was scammed out of money. A lot of time was wasted, though, but as I had plenty of that, it didn't matter so much. Money was super tight so I really couldn't afford to allow myself to be scammed. Additionally, I have a good sense of what a scam is and what a legitimate work from home opportunity is. A 6th sense? "I see obvious scams!" 🙂
I Found Exactly What I Was Looking for!
The opportunity I was looking for came about after about 3 months of fishing about on the internet and I stumbled on it by accident. It was a banner ad somewhere that simply said "are you struggling to make money online?" Yup, that's me, I thought. And so I clicked on the banner and I was taken to the Wealthy Affiliate Online Business Community.
What is Wealthy Affiliate About?
"What is Wealthy Affiliate about?", I thought to myself. It looks intriguing. And looky here, it says it's free to join?
Wow!
So, why the heck not? I clicked onto the box and entered my email address and created a username. I was now inside Wealthy Affiliate as a free starter member.
I've Never Looked Back (pun intended)
The date was July 6th 2015 and I will remember that date forever. A life changing click it was, to say the least. I was embarking on an incredible journey of learning how to build websites and how to do keyword research.
I learned how to join affiliate programs, how to get traffic to a site and how to convert traffic into sales. Amazing, it was exactly what I'd had in mind. I wanted to learn it all and this was the best place for it.
Best Stay Home Jobs Came into Being
BestStayHomeJobs.com was born and that's only the beginning. There's more to come. New websites in new niches. I love building websites while I look after the kids at home. And I love getting paid to do it, too! A win-win situation for me and the kids and the wifey. 🙂
The kids have a parent around all the time, the wife gets to go to work as she wants to, and I don't have to go to work even if I could endure the back pain.
